Currently my closet is filled with various colored and printed high-low skirts, sundresses and high-waisted denim shorts. It is still summer, but the seasons are slowly a changin’ and so are the fashions. Not to worry though, there is plenty of time to get comfortable with the new styles and trends. It’s time to switch things up a bit, revive your summer look and throw in a couple new autumn/winter 2012 pieces. Just because summer is still here doesn’t mean we can’t try out the new styles yet! Here are some of the ways I plan on adding autumn to my summer wardrobe.
Sweaters and cardigans are my favorite pieces of clothing. Don’t save them just for snuggling up on a cool autumn day with a good book. I always wear a big sweater on breezy night on the beach or at a bonfire. It is a perfect time to break out that new autumn/winter piece! Graphic sweaters made a big appearance at New York fall fashion week this year. I love this Helmut Lang sweater from My-wardrobe.com.
For me, summer is all about fun, bright colors. When autumn comes around, I make the transition to more warm and rich colors for my wardrobe. Don’t be afraid to wear some richer autumn tones during the summer! With the right piece of clothing and a pop of color, you can make it work. It’s a great combo of the two seasons.
This figure flattering Carven peplum top from my-wardrobe.com would go nicely with dark wash skinny jeans and bright flats to add a touch of summer.
We have all heard the fashion rule, “Don’t wear white after Labor Day.” You know what I say about that, don’t listen! This autumn, all white outfits are “in” according to New York fall fashion week. Give this new monochromatic trend a try! Summer whites are the new winter whites.
Macy’s has a great selection of white tops and bottoms. I really like the loose fit of this Ralph Lauren top. Treat yourself and use this Macy’s $10 off $75 coupon and/or Macy’s discounted gift card.
