Once you have decided where you are going on your trip, start researching online to see how much your flight will cost. Despite what you may think, booking early does not necessarily mean you will be getting a better deal. Step 1 Prepare

Plug-in and turn on your waffle iron, then gather a mediums-sized bowl, 1 egg, 1 1/3 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil, and 2 cups Bisquick mix.

Step 2 Bake

Mix all of the ingredients in the bowl with a spoon, be sure not to over-mix or your waffles could turnout tough! Once you have your mixture, use a measuring cup or ladle to pour the mix into the heated waffle iron. Be sure to pour slowly so your waffles keep their shape.

Make sure to watch the waffles while they bake, it should only take about 3-5 minutes, but every waffle iron is different. When they’re done, carefully remove the waffle using a fork, or tongs if available.

Step 3 Add Your Toppings

What is a waffle without great toppings? We went strawberries,  raspberries, syrup and powdered sugar. But you can add generous portions of whatever fits your appetite. Might I suggest peanut butter and maple syrup?

Step 4 Serve

Maybe you’ve heard of this clever-sounding event, but what is Movember? According to Movember.com, “during November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.” Since 2003, the fundraising effort has raised over $299 million to raise awareness for men’s health. Over 82% of funds raised go directly to men’s health programs, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation, LIVESTRONG Foundation, and Movember’s own Global Action Plan and awareness and education programs.

How to get involved with Movember

There are several ways you can help celebrate Movember. First, consider growing a mustache of your own. When people ask you what the ‘stache is for, explain to them the Movember concept. Or, if you’re not into growing a mustache (or if you, well, can’t), consider ways to donate to Movember. You can either donate as an individual or you can join a fundraising team and pool your money. This could be a great way to get your office, church group, knitting club, etc. to join together for a great cause this holiday season.

Why should you care?

According to TOMS.com, 1 in 6 men will develop prostate cancer over the course of their lifetime. Every 2.2 minutes, a man is diagnosed with prostate cancer, and every 15.6 minutes, a man dies from prostate cancer. Men’s health is often overshadowed by women’s health fundraising efforts, which is unfortunate. According to Movember.com, “there still isn’t a test that accurately tells a man which type of prostate cancer he has, resulting in many men being over-diagnosed and having to undergo unnecessary and harmful treatments.” The money raised by Movember and donated to men’s health programs may help to one day make this test a reality and increase the survival rate for men with prostate cancer.
